WHY OUR CHURCH?

We are committed to helping each person evaluate his or her spiritual journey and determine the appropriate “next step” in order to take that relationship to the next level. Our journey is never done on this earth and we all have a responsibility to reproduce what Jesus has done in our lives in the lives of others. These are the most common steps to help you along your journey:

COME

Like the first disciples who were invited to “come and see” Jesus. If you’ve never met Jesus for the first time, we’re here to help you do that.

COMMIT

Commit to a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ alone.  Commit to a baptism by immersion as a public testimony of that commitment to Jesus. Commit to becoming a member of our church.

GROW

Read the Bible regularly. Pray consistently. Be part of a small group that studies the Bible together.

SERVE

Serve other people in the name of Jesus – at home, at work, and in the community. Find a place of service at JVBC.

SHARE

Every Christian has been commanded by Jesus to boldly, but with gentleness and respect, share what Jesus has done in our lives with others and invite them to “come and see” Jesus.

If you have questions, need some help deciding what step is right for you, or would like some assistance in making that next step, please contact us.

Our Mission & Vision

Welcome to Jay Valley Baptist Church

We believe GOD has put gifts and talents and ability on the inside of every one of us.  When you develop that, and you BELIEVE IN YOURSELF and you believe that you’re a person of influence and a PERSON OF PURPOSE,  We believe you can rise up out of any situation.

WAY TO GIVE

GIVING TO JAY VALLEY BAPTIST CHURCH

We are a community of people loving each other and our Lord. The Bible teaches us a baseline standard for giving: the tithe.  Tithing is an act of worship that expresses our gratitude, faith, and love for others.

SUNDAY SERMONS

SERMON – November 03, 2019

When God Shows Through   On the way home from church, a little girl told her mom that she was confused by something the preacher said in his sermon. When mom asked what it was, she said, "Is it really true that God is bigger than we are and that He lives in us?"...

SERMON – October 27, 2019

Burying The Dead I read about a preacher who decided not to baptize a young girl on a Sunday because it was October 31. He was concerned because Halloween is a day that focuses on ghosts and goblins. It’s a day that many people celebrate death. Now most people don’t...

SERMON – October 20, 2019

What Do You Believe? How would you reply if someone asked, “What do you believe?” Do you know that what a person believes dictates how they behave. Last Sunday, I quoted former atheist Lee Strobel who wrote “…other religions are spelled “D-O” because they teach that...

SERMON – October 13, 2019

If It Weren’t For Grace Last Sunday, we spoke of a “feud” between the Jews and the Greeks in the church at Rome. And we mentioned how the Jews were having a hard time of accepting Christ as their new Messiah and letting go of the old “Law”. I think we could all admit,...

The God Who Is There By definition, all of us are involved in a feud of some kind. Since the definition of a ‘Feud’ is a “prolonged dispute or quarrel”, I’d say every believer has a feud with Satan and every non-believer has a feud with God.  Today’s scripture (Romans...

SERMON – September 22, 2019

God’s Word From The Mountain Exodus 20:1-21 The late Ronald Reagan once said: “I have wondered at times what the 10 Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress.” Well, the former President makes an interesting point. A typical...
