WHY OUR CHURCH?
We are committed to helping each person evaluate his or her spiritual journey and determine the appropriate “next step” in order to take that relationship to the next level. Our journey is never done on this earth and we all have a responsibility to reproduce what Jesus has done in our lives in the lives of others. These are the most common steps to help you along your journey:
Like the first disciples who were invited to “come and see” Jesus. If you’ve never met Jesus for the first time, we’re here to help you do that.
Commit to a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Commit to a baptism by immersion as a public testimony of that commitment to Jesus. Commit to becoming a member of our church.
Read the Bible regularly. Pray consistently. Be part of a small group that studies the Bible together.
Serve other people in the name of Jesus – at home, at work, and in the community. Find a place of service at JVBC.
Every Christian has been commanded by Jesus to boldly, but with gentleness and respect, share what Jesus has done in our lives with others and invite them to “come and see” Jesus.

Well, one morning Jesus was walking along the shore when He called out to the disciples to “cast their net on the right side of the boat”, if they wanted to catch some fish. Even though they didn’t recognize Him, these fishermen by trade…wanted to catch some fish, so they obeyed Him. Now why would they listen to a stranger? Ever been fishing…all night long…and not catch anything…you’ll listen to anyone.read more
Everyday, people need help but not just any help. They need helping hands that are filled with love. There’s no better way to strengthen your heart than to lift someone else up in the love of Jesus. The Bible says, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)read more
