…the Bible is the inspired word of God (2 Timothy 3:16), “a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105)
…every person has worth as a creation of God (Genesis 1:27), but that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
…forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who believe in Christ as their Lord and Savior (John 3:16)
…becoming a follower of Christ involves repenting of our sins, confessing Jesus as our Lord (or master), and being immersed in water for the forgiveness of sins (Romans 10:9 and Acts 2:38)
…the church is the body of Christ on earth and exists to save the lost and build up the saved. (Ephesians 4:1-16)
…Jesus will return one day soon to judge the earth and make a new home for those who belong to Him (2 Peter 3:9-13)
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…” (Acts 16:31)
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing might come from the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)
“If you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Jesus said, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16)
Heaven Can Be Yours
Salvation is God’s FREE gift to you! You can not earn your way into Heaven by being a good person or doing enough nice things to outweigh the bad. However, God’s purpose for YOU is to be with Him in Eternal Life.
- Realize that God loves you and has a plan for your life – “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
- Understand that the Bible tells us that you and I are sinners – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
- Know that sin must be paid for – “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23)
- Acknowledge that Christ paid for our sin – “But God demonstrated his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
- Accept God’s offer on God’s terms.
“My one purpose in life is to help people find a personal relationship with God, which I believe comes through knowing Christ.”
– Reverend Billy Graham

Our Team & Leadership
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
Paul & Nan Moon
Pastor & Wife
Brother Moon met his Lord and Savior as a 9-year-old boy and followed Him in believer’s baptism when he was 16 years old. A year later, he felt God’s calling to surrender to “special services” and was licensed to preach the gospel. Brother Moon gave his first sermon at the age of 17 in the same church he walked the aisle and accepted Christ.
Paul is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University (M.A.) where he met and married his college sweetheart, Nan. They served as high school teachers at Ferris, Gilmer, Longview, and Hallsville. Pastor Paul was also a Head Baseball coach and Softball Coach. Along the way, he earned his M.Ed. degree from S.F.A. and served as an administrator at Flower Mound HS. He retired as the Principal in 2011 while Nan finished as an Assistant Principal at Hebron HS.
Brother Moon was ordained as a Deacon in 1981 and ordained as a Minister in 2015 and is also a veteran of the US Air Force. Upon retirement, the Moons relocated to South Fork, Colorado and during the next six years they were instrumental in starting a Baptist church, served as the interim Pastor, as well as the first Pastor of South Fork Baptist Church. He also served on the Executive Board of the Colorado Baptist General Convention.

Our past is rich in community and family but it is the future that has us excited. Because Jay Valley Baptist Church was built on the Bible, we continue our mission to transform the world with God’s Word . . . one life at a time.
As a multi-generational church, we meet needs through a variety of:
- worship experiences;
- Sunday School and discipleship options;
- mission opportunities; and
- fellowship and outreach events.
There’s always something happening here, and we’d love to help you plug in!
